Spring Break

During the first weekend of Spring Break, I visited one of my best friends in Athens and we worked on setting her up with a raised garden bed to grow some vegetables. We had a great time, sangria, grilled vegetables and all. We went to the State Botanical Garden on Sunday.

I worked on my own garden over the remainder of Spring Break...

Willow Tree progress. John's parents gave this to us as a "willow stick" and now it is actally starting to look like a genuine willow tree.

Trying out the "topsy turvey" method of tomato growing:

In addition to going to Athens and working on my own garden, I went on a 7-mile day-hike with my good friend Jessi to the Panther Creek Trail in NE Georgia (her favorite, I'd never been there.) Here's the trail head:

I signed up to attend a 6-week workshop on ORGANIC GARDENING at the Funny Farm in Stone Mountain, GA! It starts this Sunday, April 18. I am super excited about it!

PROFESSIONAL/WORK RELATED: The "Seeds of Hope" group met for the 3rd time on Tuesday night, so we are half way through now. The activity we did prior to the gardening portion tonight was a projective exercise. Participants were asked to choose images to represent themselves and their present family members from a wide variety of nature pictures and then to share with the group why certain images were chosen. It turned out better than I thought it would. I pulled the idea from a book on ecotherapy coupled with an experiential family therapy exercise.
